Lesson carousel

When you click on the blue Lessons button on the dashboard, you are brought to the lessons carousel.

Here you will be taught the the items that are in your lesson queue.

Layout

The top of the carousel indicates the current item being learned. In the picture above, the item being learned is the 東 pouch component.

Below that are the various tabs of information associated with the item. In this case, the component has tabs for its Mnemonic and Examples.

The icons at the bottom show the items that are contained within the carousel. The one that is highlighted is the item you are currently viewing.

The home icon in the top right can be used for navigating back to the dashboard.

Navigation

You can navigate forward through the carousel by clicking the > button on the right side of the screen or by pressing the right arrow key. Navigating forward will bring you to the next tab for the item, or to the next item in the carousel if you are on the last tab of the current item.

Navigating backwards can be done by clicking the < button on the left side of the screen or by pressing the left arrow key. Navigating backwards will bring you to the the previous tab for the item, or the previous item in the carousel if you are on the last tab of the current item.

Additionally, you can change the tab for the given item by clicking on the tab names. If you want to navigate to a specific item in the carousel, you can do so by clicking on it’s icon at the bottom of the page.

Lessons

The information showed for each lesson in the carousel depends on the associated item’s type.

Sounds

Sound lessons will display the sound pronunciation and the association at the top.

Each sound lesson will teach you the Pronunciation and Association of the sound. Additionally, you can listen to the voiced pronunciation of the sound in the Pronunciation tab by clicking on the PLAY SOUND button.

Components

Component lessons will display the component and its associated name at the top.

Each component lesson will teach you the Mnemonic of the component, as well as some Examples of characters it shows up in.

Characters

Character lessons will display the pronunciation of the character, the character, and the definition of the character at the top.

Each character lesson will teach you the Components within it, the Sounds the make up its pronunciation, and a Mnemonic to aid you in remembering it.

Words

Word lessons will display the pronunciation of the word, the characters of the word, and the definition of the word at the top.

Each word lesson will teach you the Hanzi contained within the word as well as a Mnemonic to help remember the word with.

Starting the quiz

If you navigate to the end of the carousel, you will see a pop-up for starting the lesson quiz.

If you wish to further review the new items, you can do so by clicking the Review more button. Otherwise, you can proceed to the lesson quiz by clicking the Begin quiz button.

The quiz can also be initiated by clicking the QUIZ button at the bottom of the lesson carousel.
